This is one of my favourite quotes from Jim Rohn because it's so simple and TRUE! If you don’t like the way something is, just change it! Why do we act as if we’re trees and can’t “move”. How many times have you complained to your friend about your weight or the job you’re in but still continued with that job for years and still continued to have the same lifestyle with little to no exercise and horrible eating habits? Granted there’s certain factors in life whether it's financial, emotional or other reasons that make it hard for us to “move” but by no means are you absolutely stuck.
On a personal level I have changed a few things in my life. I've moved the practice to my home base where I can have more control over the client's experience. I was miffed when other visitors and practitioners at the practice were loud and unthinking of our request for quiet. Life sent us little curveballs like the air-conditioning, hot water and toilets packing up which meant I had to cancel appointments and classes. So I did something about it.
Then there's my health. A steady and gradual weight-gain over the past 8 years has meant I had to take control of my lifestyle habits. I am responsible for my weight-gain - and resulting
high blood pressure - no-one else. So I have acted by seeing a dietition and I have started my new, healthy regime today. I could have made the excuse to wait until after Christmas. That would have been SO easy.
